I am a playwright in residence at 7 Stages in Atlanta.
My full-length play Damn is the story of an ambitious young documentary film director and his editor/fiancé, and their struggle to finish their documentary after their subject, a homeless African-American musician with schizophrenia, disappears. Damn is inspired by the life of Dewey Johnson, who played the trumpet on John Coltrane's seminal 1965 album Ascension.
Damn is a semifinalist for the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's 2012 National Playwrights Conference.
My ten-minute play, Birds of a Feather, received its premiere in October in Manhattan at the Bowery Poetry Club, produced by Blue Box Productions. Birds of a Feather will be produced in January in Omaha, NE by Shelterbelt Theatre.
In July, I attended the 2011 Kennedy Center Summer Playwriting Intensive. A great experience!
